The holiday season is approaching and while everyone may be running to find the best deal on Amazon Prime, I am challenging my friends and family to support #BlackOwnedBusinesses that have been hit hard by COVID19. Businesses owned by Black people were hit especially hard by the coronavirus pandemic due to a combination of geography, limited availability of a key federal aid program and weaker ties to banks, a new report from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York finds. It is estimated that over 50% of Black owned businesses will not return after being shut down during COVID19. Given this disproportionate financial impact, I am excited to support this community of entrepreneurs.

Below is my initial list of Black owned businesses I want to support this holiday season. You can find more businesses to support here and here.
